The following list of films involve disabilities as part of the theme. In some cases the disability is a minor aspect of the story and in others, the disability is a central aspect of the plot development:
Amazon Student Accounts - FREE BOOKS
Amazon Student AccountsAmazon has a program called Whispercast. It allows teachers to create an account for their class and select books for each student. The student receives a username and login with which to access the bookshelf created by their teacher. For more information follow the steps below to create your account.
**Please note you must use your EUSD email address to create the account. Do not make your password for your Whispercast account the same as your email password or any passwords you have existing for Amazon.**
LibriVox Audio Books
Use the link to download free audio books: https://librivox.org/
Steps to downloading and using an audio book:
1) click on the link above.
2) search for the title you want (Classics such as The Secret Garden, Treasure Island, Black Beauty...)
3) download the selection you want from librivox. It will appear on your desktop.
4) drag the selection from your desktop into itunes.
5) sync into your student devices.
To Use Amazon's Whispercast and LibriVox Together
1) Log into the amazon account and open the book of your choice, go to page 1.
2) Go into itunes and start the audio book. **If you are using the librivox app, just search for the audiobook you want and it will be available through the app, not need to sync with itunes. But you need newer devices. Ipods without a camera can not install the librivox app.**
3) Go back to the amazon book you opened.
You will now be listening to your free audio book and reading the free amazon book together. When you stop the audio book in itunes you may need to write the time down so you know where to start again. The amazon book will open again to the last page you were on when you stop. Unless students are sharing accounts, in which case the student will need to write down the page number they were on as well.
